ESPN’s Goodman Talks with Kevin Keatts
ESPN basketball analyst Jeff Goodman caught up with Kevin Keatts to talk about his new job at NC State, the Italy trip and what type of system he hopes to run.
If you remember, Goodman was a harsh critic of former Wolfpack head coach Mark Gottfried, but has lightened his tone on NC State since the announcement of Keatts.
Goodman is on record saying he never had a problem with NC State and their fans, but just didn’t thik Gottfried was a very good game coach. Here is what Goodman tweeted out from his interview with Keatts. I’m guessing we see this in article form in the near future.
Just talked to new NC State coach Kevin Keatts about team’s trip to Italy. Was very impressed with Baylor grad transfer Al Freeman.

Keatts and NC State will file a waiver for Braxton Beverly. You’d think the NCAA will clear Beverly — after Ohio State fired Matta in June.

If Beverly isn’t cleared, Keatts will go w/PG duo of frosh Lavar Batts & soph Markell Johnson. Batts extremely fast with ball, fits system.

My guess: NC State finishes somewhere in the 9-12 range in ACC this season. Gottfried won 4 ACC games last season with no shortage of talent
