After defeating the Oregon Ducks 4-1 in the season opener on Friday, the Wolfpack Women’s Soccer team improved their record to 2-0 on Sunday night, defeating Portland 1-0.

Tziarra King’s goal on an outstanding individual effort in the 51st minute was the difference for the Pack. It marked the sophomore’s first of the season as she scored from 15 yards after a fast break across the middle of the field, with her shot finishing inside the left post.

The Pack’s offense made an impressive showing with 17 shots, controlling possession for the majority of the contest. The defense remained intact the entire match as Sydney Wootten was only forced to make one save in the net.

Rachel Cox had a close opportunity in the 48th minute with a shot that hit the right post, while Kia Rankin threatened on three separate occasions from inside 20 yards. (GoPack)
