2018 SF Jericole Hellems is in Raleigh for an official visit this weekend, but it turns out that he wasn’t alone. 5-star 2018 small forward Keldon Johnson is also at NC State today on an unofficial visit (6’6″/205). Johnson is ranked as the 7th overall player in the 2018 class as according to ESPN’s recently updated rankings.

Johnson initially was offered by NC State’s former head coach Mark Gottfried back in July of 2015, but was once again offered by Kevin Keatts on April 23rd. The NC State coaching staff watched Johnson feverishly on the AAU circuit this summer, and hears from them on the regular.

He already has official visits scheduled to Texas, Maryland and FSU, but he also received an offer when he unofficially visited Kentucky recently.

Johnson plays at Oak Hill with two other NC State targets, Keyontae Johnson and big man David McCormack.

It’s a big deal for the NC State coaching staff to get him on campus today.
