4-Star Manny Bates Sets Official Visit to NC State

4-Star Big Man Manny Bates (6’9″/200) has set 4 official visits, and one of them is to NC State on the weekend of September 8th. He will also be visiting Georgetown next weekend, South Carolina the wend after visiting Raleigh, and Georgia Tech on the weekend of September 22nd.

It will be interesting to see who gets Bates’ final official visit, if he in fact goes on one. The other teams that were on his list of Final 7 schools are Louisville, Xavier and DePaul. Bates has been considered an NC State lean for sometime, but Louisville’s interest raised some eyebrows, but an official visit is yet to be scheduled with the Cardinals.

Kevin Keatts would love to get a commitment out of Bates when he is on his official visit, and see the big man simply cancel the next two. Bates is the type of big that can flourish in Keatts smaller lineup, and getting him is a top priority, with Malik Abdul-Abu and Lennard Freeman graduating after this year, and the likely exodus of Omer Yurtseven.
