Former NC State Safety Earl Wolff was signed by the Indianapolis Colts this morning, after opening up a roster spot by waiving punter Jeff Locke. This is good news for Wolff who was waived by the Redskins back at the beginning of August.

Wolff was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 5th round in the 2013 NFL draft. He started 6 games during his rookie season, but injured his knee the following year and was placed on injured reserve, resulting in microfracture surgery. He spent time on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad in 2015, and was signed to a reserve/future deal. The knee injury again landed him on injured reserve, and he has not played in an NFL since the 2014 season.

Wolff ranks 5th all-time in career tackles at NC State with 400, and his 8 career caused fumbles rank 3rd.
