Jaguars Waive and Claim Former NC State TE David Grinnage

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed former NC State Tight End David Grinnage on August 14th, but released him last week, only to claim him again off waivers to be on their practice squad.

Grinnage opted to leave NC State and forgo his Senior Season last year, and head into the NFL draft. After going undrafted, Grinnage was signed as a free agent by the Green Bay Packers, but was injured during mini-camp, and was given an injury settlement.

Grinnage has yet to play an NFL game after missing all of last season. Grincaught 67 career passes for 798 yards and nine TDs in three seasons at NC State.

I’ve always been a firm believer that Grinnage was massively underused in his tenure at NC State, and always believed he was an NFL Tight End in the making. Hopefully he takes full advantage of this opportunity down in Jacksonville.
