NC State vs. Marshall Depth Chart & Analysis

NC State released their depth chart yesterday for the Marshall game this Saturday, and there are a few changes from last week that are worth noting.

RS Freshman Justin Witt started in place of the suspended RS Junior Will Richardson this past weekend at Right Tackle. RS Junior Terronne Prescod played both Left Guard and Right Tackle against South Carolina, and the staff really liked the way that he played when RS Freshman Joe Sculthorpe was in the game. As a result, Prescod will start at Right Tackle against Marshall, and Sculthorpe will start at Left Guard.

Last week there were two “or’s” on the depth chart at Running Back, but this week there is only one. RS Graduate Dakwa Nichols isn’t on the depth chart this week, just Juniors Nyheim Hines and Reggie Gallaspy.

Junior Middle Linebacker Riley Nicholson will not be backing up RS Senior Jerod Fernandez this week because he was injured on the opening kickoff against the Gamecocks. Instead, True Freshman Louis Acceus will be the backup.

Last week Junior Freddie Phillips was the backup to Senior Shawn Boone at Nickelback, but Phillips tore his Achilles this weekend, and will miss the remainder of the season. RS Freshman Brock Miller, who was third string at Weakside Linebacker last week, will be Boone’s backup this weekend at Nickel. The coaching staff, and the strenght and conditioning staff talked very highly of Miller in Fall Camp.
