Former NC State Shortstop Trea Turner was a triple shy of the cycle last night in the Nationals 11-10 victory over the Phillies. Turner knocked in one run with a double in the second inning, and knocked in two more in the 6th inning with a home run scorched over the left field wall. Turner finished the night going 3 of 4 from the plate, with 2 runs, 3 RBI and 1 walk from the leadoff spot.

The home run was Turner’s 8th of the season, and he is currently batting .281 on the year.

The Nationals’ magic number is 3, needing 3 more victories to win the National League East. Trea and the Nats take on the Phillies at 7 o’clock tonight.
