Juston Burris Gets Interception #1 in Game 1!

Former NC State Cornerback Juston Burris picked up his first interception of the 2017 season in the first game of the season (his second interception of his career).

If it wasn’t for his teammate that brilliantly tackled him, Burris was looking to take this baby to the house.

Burris played 30 snaps, and ProFootballFocus gave him a grade of 75.2 (they give each player a grade for how they play on each snap), which is considered an ‘average’ performance. But according to PFF, Burris was the best Cornerback that the Jets had on the field yesterday. Starters Morris Claiborne and Buster Skrine both earned ‘poor’ grades, earning grades of 46.5 and 42.6 respectively.

In the preseason, Burris was fighting for one of the starting positions, and came up short. If the former NC State Defensive Back continues to outplay his comrades, he might find himself in a starting role in the future.
