NC State head coach Dave Doeren updated the media on the status of Cornerback Mike Stevens and Safety Dexter Wright after practice today, and also talked about a few key FSU players.

-Mike Stevens is good. He has some muscular soreness, which you expect. From an injury standpoint he is completely healed, so it’s just getting back into football shape. He looked really good in practice, and I expect him to play on Saturday. He’ll probably just rotate, and we’ll have a three-man rotation at corner.

-Dexter Wright is questionable for Saturday. He wasn’t able to do much this week.

-They are going to run their system like they have with every quarterback that has played prior. How much they run him (Freshman QB James Blackman) we will have to wait and see and adjust during the game. What they do with him is going to be a game of adjustments for us on defense, and we’ll have to react, talk about it on the sideline, and see what they’re going to do.

-They played Safety Derwin James all over the place. He was lined up at Nickel against Alabama. They lined him up at Linebacker in their Dime package, and Safety in their base defense. They move him around a lot, and he’s obviously able to handle a lot of things mentally, which is impressive.
