Ryan Finley Streaks into FSU Game

NC State Quarterback Ryan Finley is streaking into tomorrow’s matchup in Tallahassee against Florida St. He has thrown 192 consecutive passes without throwing an interception. The last time Finley threw a pick was against Miami last season on November 19th.

Last week Finley passed Jacoby Brissett, to claim the second longest streak of consecutive pass attempts without an interception. The number to catch, which might be a mountain to high to climb, is 379 by Russell Wilson.

Finley is averaging 42.3 pass attempts per game thus far in 2017. At this pace (which he might not keep up if the running game picks up), Ryan would have to go the next 4.42 games without throwing a pick in order to pass Wilson’s record. He also ranks 2nd all-time in NC State history in interception avoidance, throwing one on 1.55% of his passes. Jacoby Brissett’s 1.44% is at the top of the list.

To put things in perspective, what Finley has done isn’t just impressive in the Wolfpack record books. His current streak already ranks 8th all-time in ACC history.
