Mark Gottfried Hired As Scout by Mavericks

Former NC State head basketball coach Mark Gottfried has been hired as a scout by the Dallas Mavericks.

Even though Gottfried has found a new employer, he will still be getting paychecks from NC State. Gottfried’s contract at NC State ran through the 2019-20 season, and he is still owed $2.28 million. With his new job with the Macs, his base salary of $760,000 (without bonuses) will offset by whatever they pay him. If Gottfried were to find a job that equals or surpasses his NC State salary, the Wolfpack will no longer have to pay him. (Source: N&O)
