2 NC State Players Make PFF’s Team of the Week

Two NC State players made ProFootballFocus’ ACC Team of the Week for their performance in the Wolfpack’s 27-21 victory over Florida St.

It’s not shocking to find Senior Defensive End Bradley Chubb on this list, but it is worth noting that he received the highest grade of anyone on the Week 4 Team of the Week. Chubb had 7 tackles (3 for loss), 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 4 QB Hits, and 8 QB Pressures.

The most encouraging thing about this week’s team from an NC State perspective is finding RS Sophomore Safety Jarius Morehead on the team. Morehead had 7 tackles (a career high), 0.5 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery.

Also, no big deal, but Chubb also made PFF’s National Team of the Week.

Chubb finished the afternoon with an excellent 91.3 game grade, moving his season grade to 88.5 overall. Chubb is an excellent run defender (88.7 run defense grade ranks second in the nation), but slightly behind (though effective) as a pass-rusher (84.9 pass rush grade ranks ninth in the nation).
An eight-pressure game will go a long way toward proving Chubb’s worth as a pass-rusher as he’d never had more than six pressures in a game in his career. He remains one of the most well-rounded prospects in the nation. (PFF)
