NC State Football Record Watch Before Syracuse

This Saturday many Wolfpack players will have the opportunity to move the NC State record books. Here’s a detailed breakdown.

Bradley Chubb is averaging 0.88 sacks per game currently, and he will play a minimum of 8 more games this season. If he keeps up his current pace, he will finish with 26.5 career sacks, breaking Mario Williams record. Chubb is also averaging 2.13 tackles for loss per game through 4 games and is on pace for 59.5 career tackles for loss, which would also break Mario Williams record.

Jaylen Samuels is averaging 1 rushing touchdown per game through 4 games, and is on pace for a minimum of 28 career rushing touchdowns. Not bad for a player who’s not a running back.

Ryan Finley is averaging 304.3 passing yards per game, and is on pace to finish his Junior season with a minimum of 6,710 career passing yards. He is also averaging 2 touchdown passes per game, and is on pace to finish his Junior season with 42 career touchdown passes.

I can’t imagine a game this season that Jaylen Samuels doesn’t get a catch, which means that I definetly think he will break the NC State record (39 – Jerricho Cotchery & Bryan Peterson)  for consecutive games with a catch. In fact, I think that’s impossible. He is averaging 9.5 receptions per games, and is on pace to finish his career with a minimum of 240 receptions, crushing Jerricho Cotchery’s reception record. He is averaging .75 touchdown receptions per game, and is on pace to finish his career with a minimum of 24.

This is the one that blows my mind the most. Jaylen Samuels is averaging 1.75 total touchdowns per game in 2017, and is on pace to pick up a minimum of 14 more, which would give him 52 career total touchdowns, breaking TED BROWN’S record.
