NC State Ranks 24th in the AP Poll After Week 5

After defeating Syracuse yesterday 33-25, NC State has moved up 2 spots in the AP Poll after Week 5, finally breaking into the Top 25 at 24th.

The last time NC State was ranked in the AP Poll was the week of November 27th, 2010, earning a ranking of 21st after defeating UNC 29-25. Unfortunately they lost the following week to Maryland 31-38, and fell out of the rankings. NC State looks to respond differently this week in their matchup against Louisville Thursday night.

The last time a ranked NC State team faced off against a ranked team was on September 13th, 2003, when the Wolfpack lost in Triple Overtime at #3 Ohio St. 38-44 (NC State was 24th).

The last time a ranked NC State team faced off against a ranked team in Carter-Finley Stadium was on October 28th, 2000, when NC State lost to the #6 Florida State 14-58 (NC State was 21st).

The last time a ranked NC State team faced off against a ranked team in Carter-Finley Stadium and won was on November 21st, 1992, when the #13 Wolfpack defeated the #25 Wake Forest Demon Deacons 42-14.
