If you want to watch NC State head coach Dave Doeren’s weekly press conference in full form, you can do so here, but if your just looking for the main points, look no further. Here are his thoughts on Louisville:

  • Louisville is a great team. Average 40 points per game. 575 yards of offense per game and 375 passing.
  • Lamar Jackson leads the ACC in passing yards, and also leads team in rushing, with weapons around him.
  • Two receivers average 17 yards a catch.
  • Tight end is really athletic.
  • 2 Big RB’s that weigh over 200 lbs.
  • Defense is Top 25 in numerous categories nationally
  • 9 Seniors on Defense.
  • Have had injuries in secondary like NC State, and isn’t sure who they will have out there.
  • Disruptive front four. 4 Seniors, with Juniors and Seniors behind them.
  • Backup D-Lineman Greenard has 5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.
  • No need to show film to team of last years blow out loss. They played well, but we didn’t, and were still not over the Clemson loss.
  • It’s different going into a big game like this now, because this is an experienced team.
  • Syracuse QB Eric Dungey can help prepare for Lamar Jackson, but Jackson is on a different level athletically. No one like him. Closest thing is Michael Vick. Need to keep him in the pocket.
  • NC State practiced last nights under the lights to prepare for the night game.
  • QB Ryan Finley is playing smart. He won’t finish the season perfect. He’s gotten lucky a few times, but he’s making good choices.
  • Finley successfully running the option which is good blitz control. A team that is good with the option, good with screens and good dropping back is hard to stop. Coach Ledford has helped add these elements from App St.
  • Being ranked now is good recognition, but if they are recognized after week 12, he’ll be excited.
