Nyheim Hines on Pace to Rush for Over 1,000

NC State Running Back Nyheim Hines is on pace to do what only 8 other Wolfpack Running Backs have done.

Hines is on pace to rush for over 1,000 yards.

To be exact, he’s on pace to finish the regular season with 1,026 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.

Coming into the season, no one doubted Hines’ athletic ability. But there were questions on whether he was the type of back that possessed the physicality to carry the ball 20+ times a game, and most analysts didn’t seem to think so.

Hines has done a spectacular job of proving the doubters wrong. He’s 3rd in the ACC in rushing attempts, and he runs hard and he runs angry, and he just keeps bouncing back up.

Many wondered what would become of the rushing attack at NC State after Matt Dayes left. Last season, Dayes was the first NC State Running Back to cross the 1,000 mark since T.A. McClendon did it back in 2002.

Hines has proven that he is capable of filling Dayes shoes, and then some.
