NC State Volleyball Off to Best Start Since 1988

RALEIGH, N.C. – Following a pair of wins against Wake Forest and Duke over the weekend, the NC State volleyball team has improved three spots in this week’s NCAA RPI to No. 34. The listing is the highest for the program since Oct. 22, 2012, when the Wolfpack was listed at No. 28 in the ranking.

NC State has won 11 of its last 12 matches, including seven consecutive to own an 11-6 overall record. The Wolfpack is one of just two unbeaten teams in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play with a perfect 6-0 record, the best mark for the program since 1988.

On Sunday versus Duke, NC State earned its first sweep against the Blue Devils since 2000. The Wolfpack is a perfect 5-0 against in-state opponents this season with wins against Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, High Point and UNCW.

NC State has played the 27th toughest schedule in the nation this season, headlined by the NCAA’s fourth toughest non-conference slate.

The Wolfpack returns to action Friday night Oct. 13 against the Virginia Cavaliers. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. inside Reynolds Coliseum and the contest will be broadcast live on the ACC Network Extra.
