NC State WR Kelvin Harmon on Pace for 1,000
Sophomore Kelvin Harmon is one of the most gifted Wide Recievers I’ve seen play the position at NC State, and that’s saying something. Through 7 games, Harmon has 36 receptions for 547 yards, putting him on pace to finish the season with 1,016 receiving yards.
Let me put this in perspective for you.
There have only been 3 players in NC State history that have crossed the threshold of 1,000 receiving yards.
3 players and 5 total seasons.
Torry Holt – 1998 – 1,604
Jerricho Cotchery – 2003 – 1,369
Jerricho Cotchery – 2002 – 1,192
Torry Holt – 1,099 – 1997
Koren Robinson – 2000 – 1,061
What an era. All five of these 1,000 yard receiving seasons came in the span of 7 years.
What type of company is Harmon pursuing? All three of these fellas went on to play in the NFL for eight years of more: Robinson 8 years, Holt 11 years and Cotchery 12 years. Holt was a 7-time Pro Bowler and should end up in the NFL Hall of Fame one day.
Not bad company to be keeping Mr. Harmon. Not bad at all.
