This is Yurtseven’s second straight year on the watch list. Entering his freshman season, Yurtseven was projected to be a 1st round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. Unfortunately he missed a chunk of the season, playing in only 22 games (starting 14), and it took him a little while to adjust to the American style of basketball. Even though he only averaged 5.9 points and 4.4 rebounds, his potential was clearly evident.

This is the second consecutive season Yurtseven has appeared on the initial watch list for the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar award.
