NC State vs ND setting up to be one for the history books

When Notre Dame and NC State take the field on Saturday, it will be a game for the history books.

The matchup will be only the 6th time in history (and the first time since the 1992 Gator Bowl) that NC State will be involved in a matchup between two top 15 teams.

A top-15 regular-season matchup has not happened at NC State since 1980 when #15 NC State took on #8 UNC.

Should the Wolfpack pull off the win this weekend, it will be the first time they have beaten 3 ranked teams in a season since 1992 (25 years!), when they beat #15 Iowa, #18 Clemson and #25 Wake Forest.

The other two ranked teams the Pack has beaten are 12th ranked FSu and 17th ranked Louisville. It’s already the first time NC State has beaten 2 ranked ACC teams in a season in 11 years.
