Dennis Smith Jr Scores 16 in Loss to Pelicans

Former NC State Point Guard Dennis Smith Jr had 16 points last night against the Pelicans, which was the second highest total on the team, but the Mavs fell 94-99. He struggled from the field last night, and really has all season thus far. Smith is only shooting 38.9% from the field, and he’s also averaging 3.8 turnovers to go with his 5.0 assists. Smith is proving he can produce at a high level, but as a rookie he will have to learn to be more efficient.

With that being said, he’s always good for at least one Sportscenter Top-10 moment. Watch DeMaecus Cousins rethink getting in the way of this.

Through 8 games, DSJ is averaging 12.8 points and 5.0 assists, and the Mavs are a horrid 1-9.
