This past Saturday, 3-Star 2019 Offensive Guard Tim McKay (6’3”/280) came up to visit for NC State’s game against Clemson. McKay plays right in NC State’s backyard, playing for Wakefield High School in Raleigh. 247Sports ranks him as the #21 player in the state of North Carolina in 2019, and the #18 overall Offensive Guard in his class. McKay holds an offer (June 10th) from the Wolfpack, and his brother Matt is a freshman quarterback at NC State who is redshirting. We were able to catch up with Tim, and get his thoughts on Saturday’s game and his recruitment.

On the Clemson game…

One of the best NC State visits I have been on. I’ve probably been on 15-20. There were a lot of top recruits at the game and it was nice to be around all of them.

On who is recruiting him the hardest…

NC State has recruited me the hardest and I enjoy being there. I talk to Coach Kitchings often.

On which other schools are making him a priority…

Duke & Virginia

On what he’s looking for in a school…

I’m looking for a school that has a great environment, is family oriented, has great coaches, academics,  and an opportunity to play.

On if there is a leader at this point…

There’s no leader at this point. I am visiting NC State one more time for the UNC game and I am visiting Wake Forest for the NC State game. I am not sure when I will be committing.
