NC State Head Coach Kevin Keats Presser Before VMI: Bulleted

Here’s a bulleted breakdown of Kevin Keatts press conference before NC State’s season opener tonight against VMI.

• All 4 players that signed their letters of intent this week can play multiple positions and will compete for starting jobs right away.
• Needed height in this class. Got two interior players. Bates and Steere can both play the 4 and 5. Needs both of them to be able to come in and play right away.

• Never determines starters until after they go through walk-through. Wants every player to be focused as if they were starting.
• Braxton Beverly is frustrated and disappointed. He did nothing wrong. Being hurt by decisions adults made. Hopes whoever makes the decision has the young mans well-being in mind. Still hopeful and praying he will play this year.
