Junior guard Torin Dorn talked to the media after NC State’s 102-67 season-opening win over VMI

On having seven guys in double figures
“I think we shared the ball and everybody got good shots up. Winning by a lot always helps your confidence, and playing together helps your confidence too. It helps us mesh as a team.”

On biggest improvements needed before Sunday
“We just have to shore up our rotations out of our traps and just stop fouling guys so much. Play defense without fouling and we’ll be good.”

On the team’s knowledge of the biscuit promotion
“We didn’t (know about it), but during the game everybody was going crazy on the free throw line, so some of the guys on the sideline were saying that. We didn’t know, but we found out during the game.”

On being prepared under Keatts’ system
“It’s definitely different playing in a real game under the lights. You get tired quickly. You have to get to your second wind and fight through it.”

On the team’s organization
“We work on it every day. You know, when you have a plan you go out and execute and that’s what we did today.”

On playing the trap
“Flying around, it helps with moral. It’s a show. Coach Keatts always says he wants to put on a show, and I think that us running around and pressing and trapping keeps our energy up. It keeps our spirits up. It fits our playing style.”

On how his game felt
“I felt great. I felt confident in my game. I think I was able to get on the glass and get some offensive rebounds, get some easy baskets. I was able to share the ball and pass around to my teammates and do the little things.”
