WATCH: Brissett Ties Johnny Unitas for most 60-yd TD Passes by a Colt

Not many people besides NC State fans knew who Jacoby Brissett was before the season. Now, he’s a guy people are using a waiver wire claim on to scoop up in their fantasy football leagues.

Although the Colts lost to the Steelers on Sunday, Brissett had another productive game, throwing for 222 yards and 2 TDs. One of those TDs happened to land him in the record books next to the legendary Johnny Unitas.

Brissett is having himself quite the season filling in for the injured Andrew Luck. While he’s not setting the world on fire in overall TDs (he has 9), he is protecting the football and eating up yards. In 294 attempts, Brissett has only thrown 5 INTs and has racked up 2,172 yards. Those yards are good for #13 in the NFL and put him ahead of QBs such as Eli Manning, Cam Newton, and Dak Prescott.

Sure, Brissett is going back to the bench if and when Andrew Luck returns, but he has solidified himself as a starting option in this league and will be a hot commodity when he hits the free agent market.
