RALEIGH, N.C. – After a 3-0 start to the 2017-18 season, the NC State wrestling team has moved up one spot to seventh nationally in this week’s USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches Poll.

The Wolfpack started its season with three wins at the Journeymen Duals on Saturday; vs. Ithaca (30-12), #19 Oklahoma (27-13), and The Citadel (43-0). NC State wrestled its starters in the last two matches, and won 16 of the 20 matches with 12 bonus point wins.

In addition to the team rankings, seven members of the Pack are ranked in the top-20 in the InterMat individual rankings. Seniors Kevin Jack (#2 at 141 pounds), Pete Renda (#3 at 184) and Michale Macchiavello (#9 at 197) are all ranked in the top-10 in addition to redshirt-junior Sean Fausz at #7 at 125. Redshirt-senior Brian Hamann is ranked #19 at 165 pounds for the second straight week, while redshirt-junior Jamal Morris (149) and redshirt-freshman Hayden Hidlay (157) are both ranked #20 at their weights.

The Wolfpack will be in home action for the first time this season this weekend, as NC State hosts the Wolfpack Duals on Saturday at Reynolds Coliseum and then the Wolfpack Open on Sunday at Carmichael Gymnasium.
