Dave Doeren Talks To Media 1 Last Time Before Wake

NC State head coach Dave Doeren spoke to the media one last time before Saturday night’s matchup against in-star rival Wale Forest after practice today. Here’s a bulleted rundown of what he said.

  • Wake finished with a lot of momentum last year. It seems like every year we play against them their quarterbacks are injured. This year John Wolford is healthy and playing really well. Offense is potent. Scored 40 in the 2nd half last week. We have to execute on defense.
  • They had 700 yards of offense last week. Can’t let them get into a rhythm and be balanced. On offense we need to get touchdowns, possess the ball, and convert on 3rd down. We need to create takeaways so their offense can’t get moving.
  • Starting Left Guard Terronne Prescod is healthy and ready to go after suffereing whatevs thought to be a concussion. (No mention of Steph Louis’ tweaked ankle, so I assume he’s good to go as well.)
  • We don’t recruit kids that want to avoid the competition of the Atlantic Division. We recruit kids that want to play against the best players in the count week in, and week out.
