After being down by 8 points at halftime to Presbyterian, NC State turned up the heat in the second half, beating the Blue Hose 86-68. Here are some quick hits:

  • NC State had 5 players score in double-figures (L. Freeman 23, Dorn 18, A. Freeman 12, Yurtseven 11, Johnson 10).
  • Lennard Freeman had a new career high, with 23 points (9-12 FG). He had never scored 20 points in a game before, and now he’s done it in the past two games. He also had 7 rebounds, 3 steals and 3 blocks.
  • The Wolfpack forced 22 Presbyterian turnovers. They have forced 20+ turnovers in the first four games this season. The last time an NC State team even had 4 games in a whole season of 20+ was in 2009-10.
  • Torin Dorn is a freak. Led the team with 9 rebounds, and also had 4 assists. He lived above the room.
  • Markell Johnson led the Wolfpack with 7 assists.
  • NC State shot 54.1% from the field. Good. 79.2% from the charity stripe. Good. 7.7% from three. Bad. Real bad.
  • 13 Wolfpack steals.
  • Presbyterian shot 49.1% from the field. That’s not great defense. The Blue Hose also out rebounded the Pack 31-28, but NC State also shot the ball 12 more times. On a positive note, NC State has more offensive rebounds than Presbyterian (10-9).
  • Key Factor: NC State got to the free throw line 7 more times, and made 5 more than their opponent.
