Keatts, NBA scouts on-hand to see 5-star elite SG Anfernee Simons

Elite 2018 shooting guard, Anfernee Simons (6’3, 165lb) decommitted from Louisville after the firing of Rick Pitino. Since then he’s been on nearly every major school’s radar.

Yesterday, NC State head coach Kevin Keatts was on hand to watch him play (according to Adam Zagoria).

While most believe Simons is leaning towards Florida, that isn’t stopping schools from going after him. What is strange, however, is that NC State is already over the scholarship limit.

The recent addition of Derek Funderburk puts the Pack over by 1 scholarship. Most believe that Yurtseven is expected to leave no matter what (whether it’s for the NBA or Europe), but what would happen if they added Anfernee Simons as well?

While we point this out, it’s not like we believe that Keatts doesn’t know what he’s doing. If he can land Simons, he lands Simons and gives the kid a scholarship. Period.

There are quite a few players that are going to get lost in the shuffle this year, and definitely next year, that might look to transfer to find more playing time. Think Shaun Kirk or Darius Hicks. Not saying they will, but odds are someone will.

If NC State lands Simons you can go ahead and mark it down, they’ll have the #1 recruiting class in 2018 (Simons is ranked #12 overall in his class). Either way, we’re going to be keeping a very close eye on this.
