4-Star 2018 Outside Linebacker decommitted from UNC 2 days ago (committed to UNC on May 1st) and tomorrow he will visiting NC State to take in the rivalry game. Wilson confirmed with me that he will be taking an unofficial visit to NC State tomorrow to take in the game.

The standout linebacker out of Orange High School (Hillsborough, North Carolina) recently took an official visit to Notre Dame last weekend, and he has expressed here recently that he still has interest in Clemson and Ohio St.

What was surprising was the official visit that Wilson took to NC State on the first weekend of November, that went really well. It isn’t surprising that he’s still interested in Clemson and Ohio State, because they were in his Final 4 before committing to UNC. NC State wasn’t even in his Final 7 schools, so NC State has definitely made a major impression on him as of late.

When I asked him if he would take visits to Clemson and Ohio State before he made his decision, he said he probably would, but he wasn’t 100% sure if he would at this point.

As I survey the situation, I think Wilson likes the idea of taking more visits, but I also think that somewhere in the back of his head he knows he doesn’t need to do so in order to make his decision. I think he would ultimately like to make his commitment sooner than later. That’s my gut.

NC State is seriously in the mix with Wilson, and if they could get a commitment from him, it would be a huge pickup, solidifying the 2018 class as a foundation class for the Wolfpack.

Wilson is the #3 outside linebacker in the country (247), and the #3 player in North Carolina (ESPN & 247). He was named a U.S. Army All-American, and was recently nominated for the U.S. Army National Player of the Year (16 nominees) Award for what he accomplished in 8 games before tearing his ACL. In his shortened season, Wilson completed 13-of-27 passes for 125 yards, rushed for 222 yards and five touchdowns on 67 carries, caught 15 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns, posted 103 tackles and 10 sacks, intercepted one pass and recovered one fumble.
