Darius Hicks Out for Season; Malik Abu Out vs. PSU
Craig Hammel, the SID for the Men’s Basketball program just dropped this bomb less than 30 minutes before NC State tips off against Penn State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
.@PackMensBball news:
Darius Hicks suffered a torn ACL in practice & will miss the remainder of the season.
Malik Abu reported soreness in his right knee on Monday & has been held out of practice. He will not play tonight. His status will be updated on a game-by-game basis.

The loss of Hicks might not seem major, considering the fact that he’s only averaging 8.5 minutes per game, but considering Abu’s health issues, it limits the Wolfpack’s depth in the front court. Also, it is extremely unfortunate for the young man.
In regards to Abu’s injury, it is important that they rest Abu and not let this injury linger all throughout the season. Hopefully they didn’t rush Abu back down in the Battle 4 Atlantis. Coming from someone who has torn his ACL, I understand that an injured can be finicky for quite sometime. The loss of Abu hurts the Pack in a big way tonight, already entering the game as an underdog against the Nittany Lions.
