How Much is Dave Doeren Worth?

According to Joe Giglio of the News & Observer, Dave Doeren wants his salary to be closer to the middle of the Pack when it comes to ACC head coach salaries.

Currently he ranks 10th (only 12 coaches salaries have been made public)

WRAL’s Jeff Gravely is reporting that NC State has put a $3 million offer on the table. That would put him in the middle.

I don’t know what the Tennessee numbers look like for Dave Doeren but @PackAthletics upped their offer to 5 years at 3 million per year w/ incentives. Currently earns 2.2 mill. Also an increase to salary pool for assistants.

Has Doeren done enough to deserve $3 million? That’s debatable. That would put him ahead of Larry Fedora, who won the Coastal Division at UNC in 2015. It would also put him ahead of David Cutcliffe, who won the Coastal in 2013, and is a 2-time ACC Coach of the Year.

With that being said, I think he is worth $3 million to NC State to keep the Wolfpack moving in a positive direction.

No one knows for sure what Tennessee is offering, but rumblings are in the $4-4.5 million range.

NC State can’t pay that money, and shouldn’t.
