NC State Target 4-Star Linebacker Payton Wilson Will Make Decision Today

According to Jonas Pope IV of the News and Observer, 4-star Linebacker Payton Wilson will be making his college decision tonight.

And as my first official order of business on my new beat, Payton Wilson’s dad, Chad, just confirmed that Payton will be committing later today. Stay tuned!

NC State head coach Dave Doeren and defensive coordinator Dave Huxtable took an in-home visit with Wilson, and he told me afterwards that he wouldn’t be taking the official visits that he had planned.

Wilson had Notre Dame and Virginia Tech at his home this week as well, but the day after the Wolfpack came through, he decides to make his college decision the next day.

For me, the writing is on the wall. I think he’s known this for awhile, and he’s done rethinking it. In the next few hours, I expect to hear that Payton Wilson has committed to NC State.
