Payton Wilson Tells PI He’s Done With Visits

Last night NC State head coach Dave Doeren and Defensive Coordinator Dave Huxtable went on an in-home visit with 4-star Linebacker Payton Wilson (6’4”/225).

The visit went well, and afterwards Wilson told me that he isn’t going to be taking any more visits before making his college decision. Prior to this, he had planned to take Official Visits to Clemson and Ohio St. in the coming weeks.

When I asked him if it was down to NC State and Notre Dame, the two schools he has taken Official Visits to, he said “sorta, and Virginia Tech.” Notre Dame and Virginia Tech also took in-home visits with Wilson this week.

Whoever lands Wilso will be getting a U.S. Army All-American, a U.S. Army National Player of the Year nominee, and the #4 Outside Linebacker in the country.

My read on the situation. This has become a showdown between NC State and Notre Dame. I think he is intrigued by Notre Dame, but at the end of the day, I think he will choose to run with the Wolfpack.
