Bradley Chubb Might Not Play in NC State’s Bowl Game

According to The Athletic, Defensive End Bradley Chubb told them that he hasn’t decided whether or not he will play in NC State’s bowl game.

Here are Rotoworld’s thoughts on Chubb’s Looking decision.

Leonard Fournette and Christian McCaffrey both drew a fair amount of flak for their decisions to sit out their respective bowl games last winter, but we would expect that a greater number of draft-eligible prospects are going to begin to take that route moving forward. Chubb (6’4/260) could be among them this year. The wrecking ball of a defensive lineman is in play for the first overall pick come the spring.(Roto)

Here’s the deal.

Chubb likely would have been a 1st round draft pick last year, but he bet on himself, and came back and raised his draft stock even higher. He wanted to break Mario Williams records, and he did. Chubb became the 2nd NC State player to earn ACC Defensive Player of the Year Award. His draft stock can’t get much higher. If Chubb plays and gets hurt, or has a sub-par performance, his draft stock could dip.

On the other hand, Chubb might play because he simply loves NC State, his teammates, and the fans. Even though his stock can’t get much higher, if he plays and has a monster performance, it could increase his chances of the #1 pick.

If the Wolfpack were heading to a bigger bowl game, like the Orange Bowl, I think Chubb playing would be way more appealing.

If you think this is an easy decision for Chubb, you don’t understand his situation at all. Whatever he decides to do, NC State fans need to stand with Chubb, respect his decision, and show gratitude.
