After winning a North Carolina state championship last night, 4-star 2018 Offensive Tackle Jovaughn Gwyn talked to Rivals Adam Friedman, and he talked the Shrine Bowl, and his recruitment.

“I’m not sure when I’ll sign,” he said. “I need to sit down and talk with my parents and if I’m ready then I’ll do it during the early signing period.

“I talked to Duke, N.C. State, and South Carolina the most,” said Gwyn. “I went to my N.C. State official visit last Saturday. It went really good. The connection with the players was really good and stands out. I’m not sure where they sit on my list right now.

“I have to take my official visit to Duke,” he said. “I just found out about their offensive line coach leaving. I have to think about what that does for them.

“I’m supposed to take my official visit down to South Carolina this Saturday after the Shrine Bowl,” Gwyn said. “The new offensive coordinator doesn’t change my thoughts on them. They had to do what they had to do. Things will probably be better for them after this. They’re saying the offensive line coach is staying. I’m expecting to get down there and talk more personally with the coaches.”(Rivals)

NC State has put themselves in a great place to land Gwyn, and his addition would push the Wolfpack’s class into the Top-20. We will have to see when and who Gwyn chooses, but if the shirt under his pads in the championship game last night is any sign, the Wolfpack are sitting pretty.

247Sports report that came out after Rivals states that Gwyn is down to just NC State and South Carolina.
