2018 CB Taiyon Palmer (4-star) Talks Interest in NC State

Last month 4-star CB Taiyon Palmer was the #1 commit in Duke’s recruiting class. That changed on November 30th.

That’s when Palmer decided to decommit and open his recruitment back up. Since then,  he’s gotten an offer and an in-home visit from the NC State coaching staff.

He recently was interviewed by 247 sports about the latest developments in his recruitment. Here is what he has to say about NC State.

“The (NC State) coaches and I are starting to develop a great relationship. Coach [George] Barlow, Coach [Des] Kitchings, Coach [Dave] Doeren and Coach [Dave] Huxtable are all great coaches who know what they are talking about. The program is heading in a great direction. Definitely a place that will be competing for an ACC championship and playoffs very soon.”

Palmer goes on to talk about his decision to decommit and how he knew he’d get a lot of interest, but he’s been surprised at how fast schools jumped in and contacted him.

Aside from NC State, he’s gotten offers from Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

Judging from those comments, it seems as if the Wolfpack is in a decent position with Palmer and that would be good news since Doeren is certainly looking to add another CB to this class. As we reported earlier, Aaron Maddox, a kid NC State was involved with, committed to Colorado recently.
