NC State isn’t done filling out their 2018 football recruiting class, but it’s time to start looking at who they will be focusing on in 2019.

One of the Wolfpack’s priorities will definitely be Heritage (Wake Forest, North Carolina) Linebacker Drake Thomas (6’1″/225).

Thomas is a 3-star linebacker that was offered by NC State last year around this time.

He also holds offers from Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan St, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, West Virginia and others. Thomas has taken unofficial visits to NC State, Virginia Tech, Michigan, and Duke.

Thomas has been teammates with NC State 2018 Commits Ricky Person (RB) & Joseph Boletepeli for the past 2 seasons at Heritage.

He is the #4 Inside Linebacker in the 2019 Class, the #8 player in North Carolina, and the #279 overall player in the country according to ESPN.

Thomas is honestly one of my favorite players I’ve personally ever watched High School film of. He is a rare breed. He is instinctual. He is fearless and lays devastating hits. He plays with emotion and passion. Thomas honestly reminds me of NC State great Nate Irving. Thomas is everything I love to find in a linebacker.

This season he had 112 tackles and 3 interceptions. Thomas also shared the backfield with Person, averaging 9.6 yards per carry.

Thomas and Payton Wilson would be a scary combination at linebacker for the Wolfpack.
