3-star Defensive Back Tyler Williams (6’2″/205) has officially signed his letter of intent.

Williams (Southeast Raleigh/Raleigh, NC) was the 11th member of the NC State 2018 football recruiting class, committing to run with the Wolfpack on June 26th.

Williams chose NC State over ECU, Colorado State and Maryland.

“It’s a family oriented place, [and] it’s close to home,” Williams said. “I know a good amount of staff and coaches there, and a few players – I went to school with some of them. It’s kind of like a big family over there.”

“We toured around, and every single person and coach I met really sat and talked to me as a person,” he said. “Not just like a coach, but a grown man, like man-to-man conversation, just talk and chop it up a little bit; that’s really want drew me. Plus I knew a good amount of staff there, so it was like a family.”(HighSchoolOT)

NC State recruited Williams to play Cornerback or Nickel, and also to possibly return kicks.

Williams had 31 receptions for 594 yards and 6 touchdowns as a Senior.

ESPN ranks him as the #26 overall player in the state of North Carolina.
