We are less than a week away from NC State’s matchup against Arizona State in the Sun Bowl. Here is a look at who has a shot at moving up in the NC State career record books.

(Via NC State’s Game Notes)

  • I think it’s completely possible that Jaylen Samuels picks up 5 receptions in the Sun Bowl, which would tie him with Jerricho Cotchery for the all-time record. He’s averaging 5.7 receptions per game this season. Here’s to JaySam picking up 6.
  • Samuels is also 1 touchdown reception away from tying Jarvis Williams for third place in career touchdown receptions, and only 2 away from tying Jerricho Cotchery in 2nd place.
  • It’s highly likely that Kelvin Harmon picks up his 8th 100-yard game of his career, tying him with Eddie Goines for 4th place. Harmon is only a sophomore.
  • AJ Cole could boot a punt or two far enough to move his career punt average up .04, tying him with Kelly Hollodick in 2nd place.
  • If Nyheim Hines can get loose on a kickoff return, he will do enough to move his career average up .02, tying him with Anthony Barbour in 8th place all-time.
