Don’t Forget About Reggie Gallaspy

Yesterday NC State fans learned that Junior Running Back Nyheim Hines will not be returning for his Senior season at NC State.

Hines was a key part of what looked to be a potent Wolfpack Offense in 2018.

So before panicking, I want to remind you of someone named Reggie Gallaspy.

Gallaspy has been in the shadows his first three seasons at NC State.

In 2015 & 2016 he played second fiddle to Matt Dayes, who is currently with thr Cleveland Browns.

This season Gallaspy and Hines entered Fall Camp battling for carries, and Hines ended up breaking out in 2017.

Gallaspy has been waiting for his opportunity for three years now. His career high is 14 carries in a game, and he has averaged 7 carries per game through three seasons. Much of these carries have come at the end of games when the Wolfpack have been running out the clock, and the opponent stacks the box knowing what’s coming.

In 2017 Gallaspy rushed for 514 yards and 7 touchdowns, and has averaged 4.6 yards per carry over his career.

Gallaspy is a former 4-Star recruit out of Southern Guilford High School (Greensboro, NC), who rushed for an insane 3,318 yards and 52 touchdowns as a Senior.

He has been the epitome of a team player, and now his time has come. Even if incoming freshman Ricky Person explodes, Gallaspy will be the Senior leader of the Wolfpack backfield. They will need to lean on him.

Gallaspy has never been given the rock enough for him to show what he can really do.

Now he will.
