Dennis Smith Jr’s 23 Points Weren’t Enough For Mavs Against the Lakers

Former NC State point guard Dennis Smith Jr led the Mavericks in scoring yesterday with 23 points (8-19 FG), but it wasn’t enough for Dallas to take down the Lakers, losing 101-107 in overtime.

Last night was a matchup between Smith and Lonzo Ball, and the latter finished with 9 points (4-13 FG).

DSJ is averaging 16.8 points per game through 6 games in January, which is the highest scoring average of any month this season.

Season Average: 14.3 points, 4.5 assists and 3.9 rebounds.
