NC State’s Kevin Keatts Talks Before Notre Dame: BULLETED

NC State head coach Kevin Keatts talked to the media today about Notre Dame and the outstanding play of Wolfpack Point Guard Markell Johnson. You can watch it here, or check it out in bulleted form here.

• They aren’t focused on the players Notre Dame is missing. Pitt hadn’t won a game, but that game was close all the way until the end.
• You make a mistake in this league when you look at someone’s record.
• We didn’t talk about Pitt or any other game to prepare for his game. We talked about Notre Dame.
• When your team is playing well, you don’t want to take a break, but it was good to give the guys a few days off.
• Markell is playing unselfish, but we need him to score the basketball. I don’t need him to score 20 points every game like he did against UNC, but I need him to have a good steady diet of passing the basketball and looking for his own shot.
• We’re a better team when we share the basketball. I’m always talking to the guys about looking for the extra pass. You could have a good shot, but an extra pass would give a guy a great shot.
• Notre Dame is a good team. They shoot the ball wel. They defend well. They’ve been in every game except the Duke game.
