Someone Better Start Talking About Torin Dorn

There are a lot of names around NC State Basketball with some buzz, and deservedly so.

Kevin Keatts.
Omer Yurtseven.
Markell Johnson.

The name that isn’t being talked about enough is Torin Dorn.

While he might be flying under the radar, he is showing up loud and clear on CBS Insider Sports Writer Jon Rothstein’s radar.

He had this to say about Dorn after NC State beat UNC on the road.

Dorn currently ranks second on the team in scoring (behind Allerik Freeman’s 14.2 PPG), averaging 13.7 points per game, and second on the team in rebounds (behind Omer Yurtseven’s 7.0 RPG), averaging 6.7 rebounds per game.

He has been asked to do a little bit of it all on this team. What Rothstein also easily could have said, is that Dorn may be one of the most versatile players in the ACC.

He technically sits in the starting lineup as a 3 (Small Forward), but he also is used as a stretch 4, and often times he’s dribbling full speed up the court with the ball.

Dorn is one of the most efficient players in the ACC, currently ranking 7th in the ACC in field goal percentage (53.1%). Also, the former Conference USA Freshman Player of the Year is shooting 40% from beyond the arch in ACC play.

As March gets closer and closer, Dorn continues to raise the level of his play, posting double-digit points in 6 straight games for the Wolfpack.

People better start talking about NC State’s Torin Dorn.

We are.
