NC State’s Athletic Program Is Getting a Lot of Bang for the Buck

NC State’s Athletic Program has been surging in recent years (really since Dr. Debbie Yow came on as the Wolfpack’s Athletic Director). For example, NC State finished 86th in the Final Fall Director’s Cup Standings in 2013. This school year they finished 7th in the Final Fall Standings.

What might be even more impressive than the Wolfpack’s ranking, is what they have been able to do with the resources they’ve had at their disposal.

As you can see in the graph below, NC State’s ranking in Director’s Cup greatly exceeds their ranking in expenses.

As you can see below, NC State’s annual operating expenses is not only below the Power 5 school average, but also below the ACC school average. With that being said, NC State finished 7th nationally in the Final Fall Director’s Cup Standings, and were the highest ranking ACC school.

NC State’s athletic program is proving to be one of the most successful and efficient athletic programs in the country.
