Since the NBA All-Star Game is currently on, I thought we should take a moment to remember the Wolfpack players that have played in this prestigious event.

NC State has had two players in their history that have gone on to play in the NBA All-Star Game: Tom Gugliotta and David Thompson.

“Googs” played 13 seasons in the NBA, averaging 13.0 points and 7.3 rebounds for his career. He earned All-Star honors in 1997, which was the best season of his career. In 1997, Gugliotta averaged 20.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game for the Timberwolves.

“Skywalker” played 9 seasons in the NBA & ABA, averaging 22.7 points, 4.1 rebonds and 3.3 assists per game. He earned All-Star Honors 5 times (76-79, 83). His first All-Star game was in the ABA (where he competed in the first ever Dunk Contest), and the next three were with the Nuggets in the NBA, followed by one later in his career with the Super Sonics.
