Kevin Keatts Talks To Media Before BC: BULLETED

NC State head coach Kevin Keatts talked to the media yesterday, and talked about tonight’s matchup against Boston College at home. You can listen to it in full here, but here is what he had to say in BULLETED form.

  • Last week was a good week. Coming off of a week with two losses, we picked up two wins, with both on the road. I think we really grew up. I thought we were able to pull away at the end and make big shots.
  • He spoke about the FBI Investigation currently going on with college basketball. Here’s what we reported on this yesterday.
  • Since VT, I think we have been better at on-the-ball defense. Bryant Crawford had a great game, but most his shots came in transition and he hit some threes. Compared to how we were doing, we’ve taken a step forward.
  • Obviously Markell Johnson is our best passer. He’s the guy that gets us into everything. He’s also one of our best defenders.
  • In Markell’s absence, a lot more fell on Allerik Freeman and Braxton Beverly. They were put into a position to be facilitators. Even though they played more minutes than I would have liked during that time, and more point guard than I like, I think we are better for it in the long run.
  • Two games at home, it’s good. Anytime you can sleep in your own bed, go to class, and carry out your normal routine, it helps out. Put’s you in a better situation.
