In case you missed it, Russell Wilson is in Spring Training with the Yankees right now after a deal sent him from the Rangers for future considerations.

Wilson likely will never really play in the majors, but he was once thought to be a major league prospect before he found so much success at quarterback for the Wolfpack. He does, however, take full advantage of being Russell Wilson by suiting up in Spring Training and keeping his baseball skills fresh.

Just check out his first batting practice session with the Yanks this spring…

You saw that right. Wilson took it over the left field fence in his first BP session of the season. Actually, he hit 6 homers on the day and was paired with Giancarlo Stanton, Gregg Bird, Gary Sanchez and Aaron Judge.

It must be pretty amazing to suit up and take the field for the team you grew up rooting for. Here is what he had to say about his spring training attendance with the Yankees.

“Some people get confused [and think], is this just a stunt or whatever?” Wilson said. “They don’t know me. If you really know me, baseball’s been a part of my blood. It’s about who I am and where I come from and what I’ve done. When you see me make plays on the football field, a lot of that is a direct correlation to baseball.” (MLB)
