NC State in Hot Pursuit of #1 Point Guard in 2019
NC State might be about to head into the postseason, but don’t think for a second that head coach Kevin Keatts isn’t looking to the future.
Last Wednesday night, Keatts was in the building to watch the #1 Point Guard in the 2019 Basketball Recruiting Class, Ashton Hagans (6’4”/185) out of Newton High School (Covington, Georgia).

Hagans originally committed to Georgia back on December 21st, but decommitted from the Bulldogs last Monday.
As a result, NC State, UNC, Georgetown and Marquette were in the building to watch him the next day.
Hagans was offered a scholarship by Keatts on June 23rd of last year.

Hagans was planning on transferring to Hargrave where NC State head coach A.W. Hamilton was the head coach last season, before heading to Raleigh. Ultimately, Hagans decided to stay at Newton.
247Sports ranks Hagans as the #8 overall player in the 2019 class.
